CSC2022 – CERN Summer School of Computing

CSC2022 – CERN Summer School of Computing

A two-week workshop for an international group of CERN students took place from 4 to 16 September 2022 in Kraków. Originally planned for 2020 but postponed due to the pandemic, the CERN Summer School is organised in collaboration with the AGH University of Science and Technology (AGH) and the Institute of Nuclear Physics of the Polish Academy of Sciences (IFJ PAN).

CSC is not a conference, but a genuine summer university. The two-week programme comprises over 50 hours of lectures and practical sessions, covering three main topics: computational physics, software engineering and data technologies.

However, the school is more than just academic study: its social and sporting programme is also an important part of the experience. Participants had plenty of opportunities to discover and experience the wonderful cultural, historical and natural attractions of Kraków and the surrounding region. They visited the Wieliczka Salt Mine, went on the Kraków Walking City Tour and played a traditional football match.
