Numer of participants: 300

12th International Conference on Fluidized Bed Technology CFB-12. In 2018 the meeting was organized for the first time in Poland, where the conference was hosted by the Energy Centre of the AGH University of Science and Technology under the honorary patronage of, among others, the Committee on Energy Problems of the Polish Academy of Sciences and the Institute of Chemical Processing of Coal. More than 300 participants from 36 countries took part in the event. The largest group consisted of representatives of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, who chaired the Conference’s workshop on the modelling of biphasic gas-grain-gas flows in the EMMS approach. During the three days of the session, 6 plenary lectures and 183 papers were presented, mainly devoted to the following issues: modelling and simulation of phenomena typical for fluidized bed layers, experimental analysis of the dynamics of gas-solid mixtures and combustion, pyrolysis and gasification of fuels processed under blistering and circulation fluidization conditions. Since the very beginning in 1985, the CFB Conference has been very successful in bringing together the scientific and industry communities. The situation was similar this year, when almost one third of all participants were representatives of the most important manufacturers and users of fluidized bed boilers from all over the world, including, among others: Rafako S.A. PBG Group, Amec Foster Wheeler, Shell, Particulate Solid Research, Inc, Doosan Lentjes GmbH, Vattenfall AB and Sasol. The decision to host the CFB-12 Conference in Poland is a great distinction for our country. It is also a confirmation that both Polish scientists and employees of design offices make a significant contribution to the development of fluidised bed technology and their works are noticed and appreciated all over the world.
